Friedl gets the platoon edge as a lefty against Lorenzen's righty stuff, and that's about the best thing going for him — his .250 OBP and .515 OPS through 164 PA this season are rough. Lorenzen, though, is genuinely struggling: an 8.01 ERA, 1.98 WHIP, and 11 home runs allowed across 60.2 innings make him one of the more hittable arms on any slate he appears. The 11-PA head-to-head is too thin to lean on, though Friedl's 83.8 mph average exit velocity against him doesn't inspire confidence. This matchup is more about exploiting Lorenzen than trusting Friedl.
