McNeil gets the platoon edge as a lefty against Gausman's right hand, but his season line — .240/.298/.617 OPS across 275 PA — doesn't give him much runway to exploit it. Gausman is carrying a 4.41 ERA with 116 strikeouts in 112.1 innings, and his 9.3 K/9 is a real concern for a hitter with a 10.9% strikeout rate; that's a tight margin.
