Duran has the platoon edge as a lefty against Ober's right hand, but his season line makes that edge harder to lean on — a .191/.251/.598 OPS across 367 PA is a genuine slump, not a sample-size illusion. Ober has been hittable this year (4.32 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 13 HR allowed in 77 IP), and his 6.8 K/9 suggests he won't miss many bats, which at least limits Duran's 29.7% strikeout rate as a concern. The 10-PA head-to-head is too thin to mean anything — the homer is a footnote. This one lives or dies on whether Duran's power (13 HR) can materialize against a fly-ball-friendly arm.
