Bryce Harper vs Logan Webb

Platoon edge to the batter

Updated Jun 4, 2026

The Almanac's Take

Harper's .877 OPS and 14.5% walk rate this season are the real foundation here — he's been one of the more patient left-handed bats in the league, and the platoon edge against Webb (righty) is genuine. Webb's 3.81 ERA and 1.2 WHIP look respectable, but his 7.3 K/9 isn't a swing-and-miss profile that neutralizes a disciplined hitter, and Harper's 14 home runs in 61 games give him meaningful power upside against a sinker/changeup-heavy attack. The 11 career plate appearances between these two are far too thin to mean anything — note it and move on. The season read favors Harper.
