The Almanac's Take

Both lineups are confirmed for a two-game slate, so there's not much runway here. The most interesting name is James Wood leading off for Washington — 16 home runs and a .920 OPS from the top spot gives him a volume edge most power bats don't get. On the other side, Willson Contreras hitting second for Boston with 11 HR and an .852 OPS is worth noting; catchers that high in a lineup are rare, and Tampa Bay hasn't posted their order yet, so that matchup context is still missing. Xavier Edwards and Liam Hicks give Miami a decent 1-2 punch, but this slate is thin — two games is two games.
